Re-kindling intense matchups from the past, the Kindersley Kobras and Davidson Raiders duked it out on Wednesday night in Kindersley for the right to be named West Central District Athletic Association junior boys basketball champions.

Wednesday's action began at 1:00 PM as KCS students filled the mezzanine to watch the Kobras take on the Rosetown Royals. The Kobras built a nice lead in the first half, going up 20 points to end the third quarter, and eventually ending up with a 74-51 win.

The next game at 2:15 saw Davidson pitted against Kenaston. The Raiders won 56-39 for the right to face the Kobras in the district championship. That result sent Kenaston into the consolation matchup against Rosetown, an exciting game that finished 60-57 for Kenaston.

Entering the finals the Kobras had an undefeated record on the season, though they knew the test ahead of them after battles with Davidson earlier in the season. The two teams met earlier this season at a tournament in Davidson where the Kobras continued their undefeated run.

The Raiders went up early in the championship game thanks to some lights-out shooting, and kept the lead near double-digits into the second half. The Kobras made a push in the fourth quarter, but Davidson once again pulled away to claim the win 62-55.
