Both the Sask West Hockey League, and Sask Valley Hockey League could have their champions named by next week

The SWHL Finals fired up last weekend as the Kindersley Senior Klippers stole a win on the road to take an early series lead, but then the Wilkie Outlaws responded with a road victory of their own on Sunday to even the series at 1-1.

Looking to break the series deadlock Tuesday night in Wilkie for Game 3, the Outlaws came out on top with a 7-1 win.

The Klippers got on the board first courtesy Damon McKenzie, but then Outlaws goals from Mitch Suchan and Ryan Keller had Wilkie up 2-1 after one. The Outlaws grew their lead to 5-1 after two periods of play as Suchan and Keller each scored their second of the night, after Brock Harrison scored as well at the start of the frame. to put the Outlaws up 5-1 after two periods of play.

The Wilkie attack continued into the third as Blake Young added a pair of his own, unassisted, as the clock ticked down reading a 7-1 final for the home side.

Needing a win to extend the series, Game 4 between the Klippers and Outlaws will be played Sunday at 4:00 PM from the West Central Events Centre in Kindersley.

As mentioned above, we are now two games into the SVHL Finals series between the Dinsmore Dynamos and Kenaston Blizzards. The Blizzards are up 2-0 in the series after a Game 1 win 8-4 on the road, and a 7-4 win back in Kenaston on Tuesday.

Hoping to tie the series up, Dinsmore got off to a good start in the game taking a 2-1 lead into the second. Kenaston would score the only two goals of the middle frame to go up 3-2 headed into the third. The Blizzards took over from there, scoring four goals to the Dynamos two as the game finished a similar way to the series opener.

Game 3 is being played Thursday in Dinsmore as the Dynamos look to stave off elimination. Currently, there are no dates set for Games 4 and 5.

Both Wilkie and Kenaston are still alive in provincials, joining Kyle and Macklin as nearby teams in the provincial final. Expect updated results, and a look at the weekend schedule for provincials in the full senior hockey preview coming up Friday.
