It's crunch time for local junior basketball teams. Finishing up their last regular season action into February, it's now time for districts.

The Kindersley Kobras junior boys team are the hosts. The Kobras will open up the tournament against Rosetown at 1:00 PM, with Davidson and Kenaston playing afterwards at 2:30. The losers will face off at 4:00 PM, with the championship game set for 5:15 PM.

The host Kobras are coming off quite an impressive run in the regular season. Tournament wins on January 20, and the weekend of February 3 were just two highlights for the team inside what's been an undefeated season so far.

For Wednesday's action in Kindersley there is a gate admission of $7 for adults, and $5 for students. The admission typically goes to covering the cost of officials for youth events.

"West Central and SHSAA are non-profit groups of volunteers who provide athletic opportunities for high school athletes." stated the event poster. "Thank you for your support of our student athletes!"

Junior girls basketball districts are also on in Kenaston. WestCentralOnline reached out to WCDAA president Mitch Wintonyk, who shared that the hosts will be joined by Kindersley, Rosetown, and Biggar.
