The pandemic put a pause on so many events that it can be hard to keep track of what is still a truly annual tradition.

Checking in with Kindersley Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Kevin Martin, he said we can expect the annual trade show to return next year. Kindersley residents haven't had the staple event for quite some time.

"We haven't had one since 2019, before I started with the Chamber," said Martin.

The pandemic was one reason to pull the show these past few years, but businesses were also becoming stale towards the event.

"With COVID we couldn't really put it on anyway, and a lot of businesses that I had talked to previously did not want to be part of it because they felt they were not getting any traction with it."

It's almost hard to believe it has been four years now without the iconic fudge being sold inside the West Central Events Centre, but with businesses beginning to turn around on the idea a few years later, Martin is eager to see what comes of the re-kindled show.

"Businesses are now actually wanting to do it again. I have been contacting a lot of them to gauge their participation and interest level, and I would say about 85-90% are in favour. They said lets go for it so I said OK!"

Martin shared that early plans have them targeting the middle of June 2024 in the COOP Arena for the show's return. They are bringing back some previous organizers to help with planning the upcoming event.

Sometimes you don't know what you have until it is gone, and Martin is expecting big things out of the long running trade show finally set to return next year.
