The Kerrobert Memorial Arena will be invaded by girls hockey talent on Saturday. Kerrobert is hosting a special female hockey showcase coming up on November 18.

News of the first annual "Girls Hockey Day" was shared during the third week of October by the Town of Kerrobert Culture and Recreation on Facebook

"Being able to organize an event for these girls to come home and play in front of their friends and families is so great for our community." shared the rec team, as four levels of Western Prairie Thunder teams will be on the ice in Kerrobert.

The day of hockey will start at noon with a U11 matchup between the WP Mohawks and North West Hawks. After that at 2:00 PM there will be a special ceremony (more on that at a later date) before the U13 Thunder take on Warman. Following that game, the U18's face Regina, and then the night finishes with an SJFHL matchup between the Western Prairie Klippers and Outlook Ice Hawks.

Tournament organizers wanted to shoutout Western Prairie's newest team specifically.

"Congratulations to the Western Prairie Junior Klippers in their first season we are proud that you are playing a game in our rink. It will be a great day of hockey. Come out and watch our local girls and their teams play some hockey. Thanks to all the teams for being a part of our girls hockey day."
