Biggar RCMP helped out with a community led initiative over the weekend. Back on Saturday, Sgt. Dereck Crozier and company were helping out with the local Red Apple store's 'fill the sleigh' campaign, where all proceeds from the community support go to the Biggar Lodge.

"Great job by the organizers and volunteers for the Santa parade around town on Saturday evening, glad we were able to participate and be part of the event."

Biggar RCMP weren't the only ones to help with local donation efforts. Check out a follow up from the Kindersley RCMP's 'Cram the Cruiser' last week!

Actual police business during the week kept members busy. The report also shared more on confirmed news of a fatal rollover earlier in the week. It revealed that the accident on Highway #14 occurred during slippery road conditions, and led to the response of all emergency services and also STARS.

There were a total of 32 reported occurrences, including eight tickets and seven warnings being provided relating to traffic offenses. One of the more noticeable calls saw a 16-year-old driver forced into a conversation about stunting and poor driving practices with the local traffic services unit.

Also included in the report was word of a suspicious vehicle containing three males around Highway 51, as members were unable to locate the individual, but didn't receive any further calls. More direct activity saw police called to deal with two males fighting in the street on 5 Avenue East in Biggar, but the brawl was disbanded before police could arrive.

Police would receive a report of a lost Iphone at the Red Apple store, potentially stolen, after tracking apps showed the phone was in Saskatoon. Another property call saw members deal with a family dispute over an urn.
