The Kindersley Jr. Klippers hosted the Notre Dame Hounds Wednesday afternoon in a special matinee affair dubbed "Hooky for Hockey." The hometown Klippers did not disappoint in this one, as captain and Kindersley's own Logan Linklater scored just 1:44 into this one for his 11th of the season with the assist going to Austin Osiowy.

The Klippers kept coming in the first, as veteran Logan Cox got his 10th of the season to double the lead, with the helpers going to John Vanden Elzen and Russ Demo. Then just under 3 minutes later, Kindersley made it 3-0, with hometown Klipper Cobe Perlinger finding the back of the net for his 5th of the season. Another Kindersley native, Tylin Hilbig, picked up the assist.

The second period saw Kindersley pick right up where they left off in the first, with Keenan Ingram getting his team leading 18th of the season at the 1:44 mark. Osiowy and Linklater picked up the assists to make the score 4-0.

The third period saw only one goal, with Brock Evans scoring on the powerplay just past the halfway point. Linklater got the helper for his 3rd point of the day to make the score 5-0, which was the final in this one.

Not to be forgotten in this game was the splendid goaltending of Cody Jaman, who made 35 saves for his second shutout of the season. This was easily the fullest the West Central Events Centre has been so far this season thanks to all the kids in stands, as the attendance for the game was 1457.

Kindersley will now play rival Battlefords in a home and home series to wrap up the first half of the season. Game one will be in Kindersley at 7:30 pm Friday, with game two back in the Battlefords on Saturday also at 7:30 pm.
