The Eston Wheatland Regional Library is preparing to host an energetic children's entertainer on July 19th. Sylvia Chave will be making a stop to perform for Eston children and paralong with other branches in the Wheatland Regional Library. The performance is scheduled from 1:15 PM to 2:00 PM.

"We were just fortunate to be one of the branches that chose to have her come," said Vera Koester, Community Librarian for the Eston Wheatland Regional Library. "I think she will be a crowd pleaser for sure."

Chave's performances are under the title named "Singing With Sylvia". She is a Saskatchewan family entertainer performing mostly children's songs. But she has a reputation to get the entire audience interacting and moving with dance moves. She has been performing since 1990 and has travelled across Saskatchewan, Alberta, and Manitoba for her performances.

Koester mentioned how she checked out Chave's website when the performance was offered to her, and she was very excited and decided to bring the entertainer to the library. "She just gets everyone up and bouncing," explained Koester. "Any time you can get into the library is a bonus."

She mentioned how the entertainment will be an excellent tool at attracting residents to the library, and it will be a good reminder to keep people aware the library is in the community. DVDs, audio books, and eBooks are only some of the options besides books available to library guests. "The sky is the limit as far as what you can do with your library card now," said Koester.

"That's all I want. I want everyone to read all summer long."

Other performances scheduled in West Central Saskatchewan include:

  • Elrose: July 19th
  • Kindersley: July 21st
  • Kyle: July 22nd
