An un-official kick-off to Christmas is taking place this Saturday in the Town of Kindersley.

Main Street will be the place to be, as Christmas activities are scheduled for between 12-5 PM according to Chair of the Downtown Kindersley Association Randy Ervine.

"Kind of what we have been doing the past number of years."

Ervine began by sharing a few things happening in and around the movie theatre.

"There's a free movie for the kids at 1:00 PM, and then there is also photos with Santa from 12-5 PM, right beside the theatre at the masonic lodge."

Tractor and wagon rides and free hot chocolate will be the other staples of the day. The downtown corridor should be busy.

Taking place after Black Friday, stores on Main Street are expected to keep the deals going into Saturday. Those same storefronts have been apart of the kick-off for years.

"It's something to do, and it's considered the Kick-off to Christmas after the Black Friday sales, which most are going on throughout anyway."

Ervine is a Main Street staple at Lela's Music Centre, easily able to recall similar celebrations going on over the years to bring in the holidays.

"It's changed from time to time, but at least 40 years for sure."

Whether or not you are ready for Christmas, the holidays are coming, and Saturday's event is more than welcoming.
