For this week's 'AA Wednesdays' spotlight, we are looking at who's been lighting the lamp for local teams a few weeks now into the season.

The U13 West Central Wheat Kings have two players off to a hot start scoring wise. Landon Reschny has nine points in four games to start the year, and Brayden McBride is right behind with eight points. The two have seemingly established quite the connection, as McBride sits with 6 goals and Reschny has 6 assists. Gavin Watt and Brady Leinenweber are tied in the third spot with three points each.

The season keeps rolling for the U15 team. Forwards Graydon Neumeier, Max Douglas, Taylor Neumeier, Darian Lowe, and Cruz Loehndorf make-up the top five scorers for the team. Defender Kaleb Veller is right behind with one goal and two assists from the blueline, and forward Kaine Thiessen is tied for second in goals despite sitting middle of the pack in points.

Kaegan Lowe continues to lead the U18 team in points with seven in four games. Austin Schafer is second on the list with four points, and then a pair of defensemen in Ty Partington and Ethan Veller are tied for for third with three points each. Jared Abrams has two goals to sit near the team lead and round out the top five.

The U13 Western Prairie Thunder are led by Kaylee Bacon and Harper Kampen in an otherwise team effort to begin the year. Brier Lonnberg and Brynley Neumeier are the other goal-scorers on the team so far, leaving Calla Erlandson and Natalie Wuttunee in the middle for points with two a-piece.

The U15 Thunder have a few point-per-game players to start the year, led by Stevie Christiaens who has 10 points in three games played. Gracie Kampen, Hayden Hilbig, and Jalaa Moore Jagow round out the players above a point a game, and only four players have been left off the scoresheet in the three games played so far this season.

Finally, the U18 Western Prairie Thunder are led in scoring by Emma Sveinbjornson with three points in three games. That includes a pair of goals for the team lead, as Raven Bowman is tied with Sveinbjornson in points with three in two games played. Goaltender Ella Rublee has started each game for an impressive 1.95 GAA to start the season.
