Counterfeit money is still appearing at a local west central businesses. The revelation comes after the Rosetown RCMP revealed that they received a call on March 10th about counterfeit currency. The report comes weeks after similar reports first emerged from the Kindersley RCMP detachment. The Unity, Wilkie, and Macklin detachment has also responded to a similar report.

Businesses are reminded that often times the fake currency is easy to spot, if the time is taken to do so. Taking a moment to look at the bills involved in a transaction could save local businesses from a number of headaches.

"With these particular bills, if you look at the hologram area. If you're not paying attention you're going miss it, but these ones have some obvious markings on them and you'll be able to tell this is not real money. I understand things can be busy at the counters, but just take the extra time to check," Staff Sergeant Kevin Peterson said after the early reports. "Make sure you don't get burned, because once you have them you have to give them to us and we need to start an investigation."

The counterfeit currency in Rosetown was first reported on March 10th.
