With Saskatchewan Teacher Federation sanctions still in effect, the Saskatchewan High School Athletics Association has announced that HOOPLA 2024, the provincial basketball championship, has been cancelled but will be replaced by a one-day championship.

In a press release, the board of directors say they are extremely saddened by the outcome.

On Saturday, the SHSAA is inviting teams that qualified for HOOPLA to take part in a one-day provincial championship in Moose Jaw.

Each team will play one game against an opponent based on their seeding.

Games will take place at noon, 1:45, 3:30, 5:15 and 7 p.m. Games will be played at Saskatchewan Polytechnic, Peacock North, Peacock South, Vanier and Riverview.

Wilkie's McLurg School, and Outlook's LCBI are the two local schools that qualified for HOOPLA. A full schedule can be found here.
