The playoffs are already in full swing in both the U13 and U18 division of the SAAHL. There are still a handful of  regular season games to be played in the U15 division.

U13

Things started off well for the West Central U13 AA Wheat Kings this past Saturday, as they knocked off Warman 6-5 to take game one of the best of three series. Taylor Neumeier led the way for West Central with a hat trick, and Jack Thiessen had a goal and an assist. Cruz Loehndorf and Graydon Neumeier also scored for West Central in the victory.

Then in game two in Kerrobert on Sunday, the fortunes changed for the Wheat Kings, as they fell 5-3. Max Douglas had a pair of goals, and Kaine Thiessen had the other in the loss.

Things went from bad to worse for West Central on Family Day Monday, as they were beaten soundly, 12-2, in a penalty filled affair on the road to end their season.

U15

The U15 West Central AA Wheat Kings still have four regular season games left after Tuesday night's matchup with the division leading Saskatoon Outlaws. The team got a great effort from goaltender Jaden Blanchette out, and took home the game, 4-2. West Central and the Outlaws were tied at one after two, as Cam Perlinger scored for the Wheat Kings to match the Outlaws. Then West Central took the lead on a goal by Austin Schafer with just over seven minutes remaining. Porter Nickason scored into an empty net with 1:50 remaining, which turned out to be the game winner as the Outlaws scored with 9 seconds remaining. Then Cobe Perlinger iced it just four seconds later. 

The U15 AA West Central Wheat Kings next game is tonight against the Prince Albert Pirates at 5:30 on the road. They will also be on the road this Saturday against the Saskatoon Stallions at 4:30 pm. The final home game of the season for the Wheat Kings will be on Sunday, March 6 at 3:00 pm at the WCEC, it will also be the final regular season game for the club. 

Leading the way on the scoresheet for the U15 AA Wheat Kings is Cobe Perlinger with 30 goals and 38 assists for 68 points in 27 games played. Right behind is Cam Perlinger with a team leading 33 goals to go along with 34 assists for 67 points in 27 games played. Keegan Nash leads defensemen with 3 goals and 19 assists for 22 points in 27 games played, also good enough for third on the team. 

West Central currently sits with a 14-9-4 record heading into tonight's game, which is tied for the final playoff spot in the standings with North West.

U18

As mentioned earlier, the U18 AA West Central Wheat Kings took home game one of their best of five first round series with the first place Saskatoon Riverkings. Game two of that series goes in Unity on Saturday at 7:30 pm. Game three will be back in Saskatoon the following day at 5:00 pm.
