Over the weekend there was a number of athletic events going on.

 

There were two SHSAA provincial quarter finals for football which had Rosetown in Watrous and Kerrobert in Caranport.

The Royals, unfortunately dropped the game 44-20 to the Wild Cats, meaning Rosetown's season for football is now over.

Meanwhile, Kerrobert won a nail biter game 32-31 over Caranport. Kerrobert will advance to the semi-finals which are to be held next weekend.

 

In the Sask West Hockey League the Kindersley Red Lions won a back and forth game 9-7 over the Macklin Mohawks. Josh Sim had a hat trick for the Red Lions. Selkirk Botrokoff, who played 13 of the 18 games last season was in net for the Mohawks.

Elsewhere Luseland got their first win of the season, beating the Kerrobert Tigers. The Tigers are back in the SWHL after a brief, one year hiatus.

The Rosetown Redwings Sask Valley Senior Hockey team opens their season on Friday while the Long Lake Hockey League Redwings start theirs on Saturday.

 

Today has multiple minor hockey games going on in Kindersley as the Bantam, and Midget teams have their home openers.

Elsewhere, the Kindersley novice Whitecap Longhorns lost a high scoring game 9-7 against the visiting Eston Ramblers last night in the West Central Events Center. Pryce Thiessien had four goals for the Whitecap Longhorns where as Keegan Nash netted five for the Ramblers.

 

The Kindersley Klippers had the weekend off, they will be back in action on Wednesday when they welcome the Estevan Bruins for their 4th of 7 consecutive home games. Last time these two teams met the Iron Horse Kindersley Klippers came away with a 4-3 victory.

 

Conference playoffs for volleyball start November 6th and run throughout the weekend. LCBI, Central Butte, Dinsmore and Wilkie are hosting their respective divisions.
