The Wilkie Outlaws senior team played two important games over the weekend, one in provincials and one in league, splitting the games to set up a big weekend of hockey coming up.

Their first game of the weekend was Game 1 of Hockey Saskatchewan's "C" Provincial Final on Saturday. The Outlaws were on the road to face the Kyle Elks, and took an exciting 7-4 win in the important series opener.

The win in Kyle now has Wilkie setup for a chance to win the Provincial C title in Game 2, going this Friday night on home ice at 7:30.

Moving to league play, the Sask West Hockey League Finals are headed to a winner-take-all Game 5, after the Kindersley Sr. Klippers took a 3-2 overtime win at home on Sunday night against Wilkie to tie the series up 2-2.

Kyle Donaldson opened the scoring for Kindersley as the Klippers had a 1-0 lead after one. In the second Wilkie's Ryne Keller scored to tie things up, and then early in the third period, Ryan Keller scored on the powerplay to make it 2-1 for the Outlaws.

Still down one goal with just over three minutes to play, Jon Calkins tied the game up for the Klippers, followed up by an emphatic celebration. Into the extra-frame, Jessey Pocock scored the overtime winner as fans at the West Central Events Centre went through the roof with their team staying alive in the series.

Game 5 is now set for Tuesday night in Wilkie. Puck drop will be at 8:30 PM from the SaskCan Community Centre.
