The U18 AA West Central Wheat Kings were in action with a neutral site road game earlier this week in Wilkie, ahead of Saturday's home game in Unity.

The Wheat Kings were on the ice for a mid-week matchup on Thursday, losing 4-2 to the North West Stars inside the SaskCan Community Centre. The Wheat Kings were down 2-0 heading into the second period, but goals from Austin Schafer and Chase Douglas knotted the game at 2-2 about halfway through. The Stars would score before the end of the period, and add another insurance marker in the third.

Thursday's game was technically an away matchup against the Battlefords based North West Stars.

The Wheat Kings will likely ice a similar lineup to the one above for Saturday's home game against the Parkland Elks.

Headed into the game Kaegan Lowe leads the team in scoring with 17 points in 10 games played. Austin Schafer's goal on Wednesday was his 9th of the year as he took over the team lead.

Saturday's game is scheduled for 8:30 PM at the Unity Community Centre. In a matchup last Sunday with the Elks, the U18 Wheat Kings took a big 7-3 win with multi-point efforts coming from six different players.
