Whether it's in the fields, in the garden, or at the lake, people are out in the sun this Victoria Long Weekend.

Before soaking up those rays, however, people should be aware of the damage that the sun can cause.  The sun's rays are known to cause sunburns, cancer, and cataracts. Cancer control co-ordinator Doreen Callander reminds everyone that the sun's rays are at their strongest bewtween 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Callander also reccomends staying in the shade and wearing a wide-brimmed hat, loose fitting clothing, and sunglasses.
