People with disabilities in Saskatchewan are getting a new income support program.

The government says that this means the disabled will no longer have to depend on social assistance for their basic living costs. About three thousand recipients will initially be enrolled when payments start October first.  The program is designed to be more dignified and less intrusive than welfare.
