Select member groups of the Saskatchewan Teachers' Federation carried out their full-day rotating strikes on Thursday.

The Tri-West Teachers Association, representing educators locally in Kerrobert, Unity, Macklin, Wilkie, and surrounding areas, travelled to North Battleford for the demonstrations. They were joined by STF President Samantha Becotte, as the protests took place in front of the office of Education Minister Jeremy Cockrill.

According to the Saskatchewan Teachers' Federation on Facebook, Becotte, "had a simple message for the education minister, Scott Moe and other members of government".

"We need to see certainty, we need to see stability within Saskatchewan education. We've had enough. We've had a decade of underfunding, we've had a decade—a generation!—of kids who haven't received the supports that they truly need. Get back to the table. Start making real commitments. Enough of the empty promises."

After gathering feedback from the Sun West Teachers' Association's strikes in Kindersley earlier in January, WestCentralOnline has reached out to the Tri-West Teachers' Association for a comment on the latest round of job action.
