Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for the West Central area and expects heavy snow to begin midday Tuesday through to Wednesday afternoon.

Environment Canada says the region can expect 10 to 15 cm of snow.

“An Alberta clipper will track across Saskatchewan on Tuesday. Heavy snowfall is anticipated to develop near the Alberta border and track eastwards across central Saskatchewan around midday on Tuesday, continuing into Wednesday. Gusty winds accompanying the snowfall will cause reduced visibility at times due to blowing snow. The snowfall is expected to taper off on Wednesday afternoon and evening,” stated Environment Canada in a release.

“Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways, and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow,” the release went on to say.

Environment Canada warns drivers to prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions.
