One trophy was lifted, and more celebrations should be on the way as it was another exciting week of senior hockey league and provincial play.

The Cross Roads Hockey League's inaugural season is now officially complete after the Dodsland Stars won the league title against the Kerrobert Tigers, taking Game 4 on the weekend by a score of 4-0. The Stars jumped out to an early 2-0 series lead, before Kerrobert battled back for a 3-1 game in Game 3, but Saturday's shutout win sealed the deal for the Stars as they hoisted a trophy in their return to senior hockey in 2023-2024.

The Sask West Hockey League and Sask Valley Hockey League finals are both underway as well. Kindersley and Wilkie are currently tied 1-1 in the SWHL series, while Kenaston currently leads Dinsmore 1-0, ahead of Game 2 of the series going on Tuesday.

The SWHL and SVHL are both well represented in Hockey Saskatchewan provincials as it enters the final round. Highlighting things locally is the Senior "C" final between the Kyle Elks who advanced over the weekend against Carnduff, and the Wilkie Outlaws, who just finally lost their first game of the season in Game 1 of the SWHL Finals. Other representatives see the SWHL's Macklin Mohawks up against Redvers in the Senior "D" final, a matchup spanning nearly 750 kilometres. Finally, the SVHL's Kenaston Blizzards are taking on Lumsden in the final series of the highly contested Senior "A" bracket.
