A sizable snowfall for West Central begin March has improved the region's spring runoff forecast.

That snowfall managed to raise the runoff from well below normal to below normal in the Kindersley and Rosetown areas.

Even better news is in store for the Wilkie and Biggar areas, as runoff is expected to be near normal.

The Water Security Agency released its second preliminary spring runoff report on Tuesday.

They upgraded the narrow strip from Elrose through Swift Current to Val Marie to below normal from their February projection of well below normal.

The WSA bases its projections on snow surveys they complete a week or two before releasing the data to the public.
