Beginning Thursday, April 29, 14 pharmacies in the province will receive vaccines as part of a pilot program to offer vaccinations to residents.

While the locations of these pharmacies have not yet been released, residents may be able to book their vaccines through them as early as today.

Up to 63 pharmacies will eventually participate in the small-scall rollout which will help refine distribution and streamline the vaccination process. Staff working at these pharmacies and stores that house participating pharmacies are eligible for vaccination.

More pharmacies will be added as more vaccines become available in the coming weeks, and residents are asked to be patient as booking for appointments will vary by pharmacy.

A list of participating pharmacies will be available on the Government of Saskatchewan website once they are ready to accept bookings.

It is important to know that not all Saskatchewan pharmacies are participating in immunizations, and there is a limited amount of vaccine available for this pilot.

Participating pharmacies will be determining their own booking procedures for the general public, following the age-based sequencing. They will also undertake their own awareness efforts, communicating directly with the public.

Residents are being instructed to not call the Saskatchewan vaccination phoneline to book an appointment at pharmacies and to not try to book an appointment online for them either, as vaccination appointments in pharmacies will not be available through these methods.
