One of the staple presentations in the Sun West School Division's curriculum will be returning for the 2017-2018 school year.

Grade 10 students throughout the division are set to participate in the P.A.R.T.Y. Program over the next several months with a couple dates already announced.

Davidson School will be the first to host a presentation for its students on October 19th followed by a tentative Elrose presentation on October 26th. More dates will be announced throughout the year.

The program (Preventing Alcohol Related Trauma in Youth) has been in place for years in order to provide education for students about the consequences of bad behaviour such as driving under the influence of alcohol or narcotics.

Staff from the Heartland Health Region including paramedics, local police and fire departments, Sun West School Division and volunteers all participate in the event. Students experience everything from a re-enactment of an accident scenario and personal experiences from surivors or emergency responders.

The presentations usually include statistics and activities to engage the students in the event as well.
