A pair of heavy-haulers were stolen from Biggar overnight Monday, though only one attempt was successful.

Biggar RCMP released the following statement.

"Biggar RCMP had two theft of semi-tractors on the south side of town between 3:15am and 3:49am last night.  One theft was unsuccessful as the truck was in for engine repair and broke down a half-km away from the theft site in Biggar."

Police are now seeking information towards the successful theft. The missing grey Peterbilt semi, Saskatchewan plate 845HGY, is currently listed within the Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC).

The escaped suspects are believed to be driving a white or silver early 2010's Ford pickup truck, and police believe they took off towards Highway 51 from Biggar based on tracks and available video surveillance. With no keys available to start the semi, police believe that thieves 'punched out' the steer column ignition to start the truck.

The public can contact the Biggar RCMP with any tips on these thefts.
