The Kindersley Jr. A Klippers played host to the Yorkton Terriers back on Saturday in what turned out to be a crazy finish at the West Central Events Centre. Yorkton got on the board first on a pair powerplay goals by Jye Zawatzky and Anthony Domina. Kindersley answered off an offensive zone faceoff, with Brock Evans potting one over west central native Blake Sittler's shoulder to cut into the Yorkton lead. Easton Inglis won the draw to get the only assist. But before the end of the period Domina got his second of the night to double the Terriers lead once again.
Kindersley then potted a pair of powerplay goals in the early stages of the second period, to tie the score. Ingram got his sixth of the season on a nice power move in the offensive zone, and Evans got his second on a nice pass from Danton Cox on the powerplay and deflected it in past Sittler to make the score 3-3. Logan Cox got the other assist. But just over a minute later leading goal scorer for the Terriers Aiden Knutson got his eighth of the season to give Yorkton the lead once again. They doubled it on a beautiful passing play between Domina, Jaron Desnoyers and it was finished by Jeff Hammond for his second of the season on another powerplay. Before the period was over captain Logan Linklater converted a one timer on a nice pass from Danton Cox to get the Klippers within one.
Heading into the third Kindersley managed to tie the game early in the period with Zak Anderson putting in a two-footer on yet another powerplay for his fourth of the season. Tylin Hilbig and Keenan Ingram picked up the assists. Right after the goal there was a huge scrum which saw Tylin Hilbig and Logan Linklater being sent off for Kindersley, with Zawatzky and Dalton Mayes heading to the penalty box for Yorkton. Due to Linklater getting the extra two minutes out of the scrum, the Klippers were shorthanded once again. Yorkton immediately took advantage, with Tyson Perkins getting his first of the season on a seeing eye point shot to give the Terriers a one goal lead. Undeterred, Kindersley came back to tie it once again, on a sharp angle shot from Anderson for his second of the game and fifth of the season. The wild game look like it was destined for overtime, but Klippers captain Logan Linklater scored off the rebound of a beautiful Nathan DeGraves rush with just 15 seconds to go to give Kindersley a crazy 7-6 win.
Brock Evans, Zak Anderson and Linklater each scored two in this one for Kindersley, while Yorkton's Anthony Domina got two himself. The Klippers will now shift focus to the Weyburn Red Wings who will be in Kindersley on Wednesday at 7:30 pm.
