The Town of Outlook’s Van Raay and Community Pool experienced a pipe burst in the heated mechanical room near the end of January. A large amount of water entered the crawl spaces under and around the pool as well as filled the outdoor pool itself. With the temperature fluctuations, extensive damage has been observed.

Town personnel were able to quickly shut off the water and clean up began immediately.

The town has insurance for the pool and all damage and costs will be covered.

Chief Administrative Officer Kevin Trew explained the feelings of the town during this tragedy.

“That our team right from our Council members, our mayor, our Council, the staff here, and we all regret that this happened and that we are committed to making sure that we can get this operational as soon as possible so that the 2025 pool season sees many people using our swimming pool.”
