The Town of Kindersley is hoping to benefit more than just the environment after the construction of six new Tesla Superchargers, and two more generic EV charging stations inside the community.

The EV stations have been in the works since the pandemic according to Kindersley Chamber of Commerce President Jeff Soveran. While not officially Chamber business, Soveran is part of the local company that carried out a contract with Tesla to install the green technology in Kindersley.

The environmental impacts are clear when it comes to promoting the use of an electric car, but from the Chamber's perspective, there is a clear economic incentive to installing the charging stations.

"They will be able to stop, charge up, and then hopefully use some of the businesses in town when they are charging. I mean it's a benefit for everybody. People are buying them, they are coming through our communities, so it's going to make them stop here and hang out a little while, that's for sure"

Located in-between the Co-op gas station and entry to the East Crossing Mall off Highway #7, the eight charging stations are in a prime spot for visitors to support local business.
