SHSAA volleyball continued over the weekend as senior girls teams are now ready for the final stage in provincials, and senior boys teams split contenders and pretenders with their provincials approaching.

Unity and Macklin are advancing on to provincials for senior girls, and multiple senior boys teams advanced on to regionals.

1A

Kerrobert was the only local 1A team taking part in the second straight tournament from Maymont. Kerrobert would put up a good fight going into the final four, but the host team, along with Edam earned spots in provincials.

Macklin came out on top in their tournament as regional champs. Taking an undefeated record in pool play to the championship bracket, Macklin defeated Makwa and Langham on-route to securing their spot in 2A provincials this weekend.

Unity was in Lanigan, and those two teams were the only ones to finish pool play undefeated. Each team secured their spots in provincials, later meeting in the finals as Lanigan was ultimately named the regional champs. Three teams advanced to provincials out of this bracket, as Maple Creek would edge out Maidstone to claim the third and final spot.

LCBI and Lucky Lake earned the right to move on after the local tournament in Leader over the weekend. Both teams will be headed to Ponteix now for regionals.

Wilkie hosted a five team tournament, earning one of two spots in regionals this upcoming weekend. Wilkie will again be hosting, as Lashburn will also be in town as part of a six-team field.

Biggar hosted conferences with Unity and Kindersley in attendance. The hosts moved on along with undefeated Unity as both teams will now be in Assiniboia for regionals this weekend.
