The Leader Lions Club has been named one of four proud recipients of the Premier Service Club Award.

The Lions share the honour alongside the Medicine Hat Lions Club, the Swift Current Kiwanis Club and the Humboldt Junior Chamber International.

Premier Wall mentioned it was the initiatives of community groups such as these that make Saskatchewan such a lovely province within which to reside.

The Leader Lions Club has been an active organization within the town for decades.

Since its debut in 1960, the Lions have helped the community raise money to financially create and maintain many of the town's sports and leisure facilities, including the local ice-hockey

arena, the ball diamond and-more recently- the local swimming pool which services Leader and area.

The Leader Lions Club also is an astute patron of the Leader Arts Council, and the Leader Farm Safety Program.

The Lions also boast a hearty volunteer lineage; much of Leader's volunteer efforts within the community have come from the Leader group.

Nominations are now being accepted for the next round of this award.
