Town Council held their bi-weekly meeting on October 11th. Meetings of Council usually take place every 2nd and 4th Monday of the month. This meeting was held on Tuesday because of the Thanksgiving holiday.

Here are some highlights from the Town Council meeting.
 
  • The meeting began with a delegation by Kindersley Rodeo Committee President Tyler Ritchie who gave a recap of the 2016 Indoor Rodeo stating that almost $20,000 was raised for the pool committee during the event. Ritchie also announced that next year’s rodeo will be held in the first week of June.
  • October 9th-15th was declared as Fire Prevention Week in Kindersley.
  • Council decided to go ahead with the Main Street Traffic Signal Project which will cost over a quarter of a million dollars. The Acting Mayor and Chief Administrative Officer will be advised to enter into an agreement with the lowest bidder for installation of the traffic lights.
  • Council decided that the town will not extend their agreement with GNS Industrial Trailers Services Open Camp Lodge due to temporary workers staying in private hotels.
