The Kindersley Skating Club hosted their regional competition last weekend at the West Central Events Centre, and coaching representative Amber Wildman shared some details.

The club hosted a total of 103 skaters on February 12th, in attendance from 12 different clubs, with the local group providing 21 of the skaters in attendance. Highlights for the Kindersley club saw seven first time competitors take part, and also a chance to see the Starskate synchro team compete as well, who were ultimately awarded with a silver medal.

The pairs team also attended their competition for the first time in the dance event, achieving an overall silver according to Wildman.

“It was a very long but exciting day. After not having any events last season it was great to be able to attend a competition again. So many smiles made for a great day!”

The group is very thankful for their small number of volunteers that worked many hours to prepare for the recent competition, as well as the parents that volunteered to help on the day of the event as well.

Next up for the group is their annual year end carnival on March 20th, that they are all looking forward to being able to put on after altered shows the last few seasons.
