Food Bank Items

The Kindersley Food Bank has had a busy year.

The demand for the Food Bank services has doubled since the beginning of the year, with a growing demand to meet the extra surge of need during the holiday season.

Denise Webster and her troupe of volunteers has been working extra hard to meet the needs of the community.

At least 20 percent of the city has used the services of the Food Bank at some point in the year.

Webster believes the ailing oil and gas economy in the province is partly the reason to explain the increased use of the Bank, and is confident -with the economic forecast for 2016 as it is -the Food Bank will be seeing
similar numbers visiting in the new year and beyond.

Over 800 hampers have been put together in the year for families all around the area.

If you are considering making a donation to the Food Bank for the holidays, here is an overview of the various donations which can be made:

A donation of $75 buys a family a complete hamper for the holidays

A donation of $30 buys a turkey or a ham for a family

A donation of $25 buys Christmas breakfast for a family

A donation of $20 buys fresh produce for a healthy meal
