Football is going to be a main feature of the Kerrobert Harvest Festival this weekend.

The Kerrobert Rebels senior team is hosting Macklin on Friday night under the lights at 8:00 PM, with a junior game going on beforehand at 5:00 PM between the junior Rebels and Plenty Jr. Wildcats. After the games, on Saturday at 1:00 PM Grade 1-5 students from Macklin and Plenty will hit the field in Kerrobert and join local players for a flag football jamboree.

As the Harvest Festival game approaches, head coach of the Rebels Troy Snider couldn't say enough about the community support towards football in Kerrobert.

"We are so lucky to have such great community support. It's so great to get out and play under the lights, and see all the vehicles parked and people in their lawn chairs. Maybe under blankets this weekend, it might be a cooler evening." said Snider.

The longtime coach expects good attendance from the visiting side as well.

"Playing against Macklin, it's a great rivalry, they will travel down to support their team as well. Should be a really good environment with the games this weekend."

Snider has been impressed with his team so far this season. After a win in Big River on Friday, the Rebels carry a 2-1 record into this weekend's matchup.

"It's been a really exciting season so far. Our numbers are lower than they have been in the past, but the hard-work and effort and dedication is strong as ever." Snider shared about his team. "Started off our first week against a really strong Plenty team. Learned a lot, and were able to put together back-to-back wins."

Snider is happy to see his team's hard work paying off, and two upcoming home games should be a reward for the Rebels who enjoy their Friday night lights more than most.
