The Kindersley Kobras senior football team hit the road for Outlook on Thursday to play in the LCBI Bison's special homecoming game (complete with a halftime show) in what was the final action of the season for both local 6-man teams.

The score finished 43-20 for the game that wasn't part of the SHSAA schedule. Neither Kindersley or LCBI were made eligible for 2A league playoffs beginning Friday, so this exhibition matchup was a great way to end the season, in some great weather to boot.

The Kobras hit the scoreboard early with two scores before LCBI cut into their lead with a touchdown of their own. Kindersley's playbook was wide open in their final game of the season as a half-back toss, hook-and-ladder, and various deep routes all resulted in points for coach Shane Anderson's offense. The chess match continued until the Kobras pulled away late in the game.

It was the final hurrah for Kobras seniors Mason Kucher, Aaron Giesbrecht, Lyndon Campbell, Charley Fleming, Tyler Schimph, and quarterback Cameron McLay, who took the field together on the first and last plays of the game by the design of Kindersley head coach Mackenzie Francis.

The Kobras win also came on the birthday of Kobras legend Riley Volk, who tragically passed away now ten years ago. Once again this season the team kept a picture of Riley up in their clubhouse as a tribute to what it means to be a Kobra.
