Two deaths, 1,049 new positive cases, and 1,147 recoveries were reported on Tuesday, January 25th.

Five of the new cases were found in the central-west zone, Saskatoon has 369, Regina has 162, north-central has 98, central-east has 68, the northwest has 65, the south-central has 30, the southeast has 26, the northeast has 24, southwest has 21, the far northwest has 18, the far northeast has 15, and 148 of the new cases have pending residence information.

Of the new cases reported today, 170 were unvaccinated or fewer than 21 days after their first dose, 43 had received their first dose or were less than 21 days from their second dose, 577 were fully vaccinated (more than 14 days since their second dose) and 259 were fully vaccinated and more than 14 days from receiving their booster dose.

12,652 cases are considered active in the province. There are 2,245 active cases of the Omicron variant.

291 people are hospitalized. 258 residents are receiving inpatient care, 112 inpatient hospitalizations are a COVID-19-related illness, 120 are incidental COVID infections, and 26 have not yet been determined. There are 33 residents being treated in ICUs; of those, 22 are for COVID-19-related illnesses, 5 are for incidental COVID infections, and 3 are undetermined. 3 residents are in PICU/NICU: all 3 are for COVID-19-related illnesses.

There were 1,368 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine added to the provincial count yesterday, bringing the total number of doses up to 1,848,289, with 888,371 people being fully vaccinated in Saskatchewan. 

The 7-day average of new COVID-19 case numbers was 1,247.
