The Good to Go bantam Klippers held their annual tournament this past weekend with nine out of town teams showing up for the event. The Klippers got things started on Friday afternoon against the Swift Current Blades. The Klippers took a one goal lead into the first intermission on a goal by Jace Reichert and after the Blades tied it up in the second the Klippers regained the lead. The Blades tied it up early in the third and it was looking like it would end that way until the Blades scored with just a second left on the clock to make the final 3-2.

Friday night saw the Klippers take on the Lethbridge Hurricanes where the Hurricanes wasted no time getting two goals right off the bat before the Klippers came to life. Calvin Feader ripped a hard one past the Hurricanes tender to bring them within one, and Jace Reichert got his second of the day to tie it up 2-2 in the second where the score would stay.
Saturday morning the Klippers faced the Warman Lions and the Klippers were looking for a win to help their chances of making the Sunday finals. The Klippers line of Josh Yaramovich, Coen Gartner, and Kearin Wagner exploded in the first period for a combined 6 points to help the Klippers take a four to two lead into the intermission. Rhys Bacon and Jace Reichert would add couple more to secure the win 6-3.

The Klippers final round robin game saw the team needing a win against the Hauge Royals to advance and play Sunday. The Klippers came out with lots of energy and on the first powerplay of the game Calvin Feader let a point shot go with Rhett Dimitroff stirring up trouble in front of the net, Rhett battled hard and got the rebound to go in. Rhys Bacon added another in the first to give the Klippers a two goal lead, and with no scoring in the second, the Klippers just needed to hold on for the win. The Royals had another plan and potted two in the third to leave the game tied, 2-2. One win, one loss, and 2 ties was not good enough for the Klippers to advance to Sunday’s finals where the Lethbridge Hurricanes took home the title as Kindersley tournament champs 2019.

The Next Home Game for the Bantams is on Dec 7 at 5:15pm against the Biggar/Wilkie bantams.
