The Saskatchewan Junior Female Hockey League is almost ready to fire-up its inaugural campaign with the calendar flipped to October.

The league announced their title sponsor for the upcoming season earlier in the week, and in the release also shared some important dates for the upcoming season.

The leagues opening game will take place October 7 in Gull Lake as the Southwest Impact play the Lumsden Lynx. Locally, both the Outlook Ice Hawks and Western Prairie Klippers get their seasons underway October 15 against Saskatoon and Lumsden respectively.

SJFHL President Blaine Stork has been excited for each step along the way. The new league is groundbreaking for the province and the six communities willing to introduce a franchise.

"This level of hockey for females is long overdue and we are grateful for Hockey Saskatchewan leading this process and the six founding communities that wanted to make a difference for female athletes. We encourage one and all to come out this winter and enjoy some junior female hockey!"

Teams will battle all-year-long for the right to hoist the Bourgault Cup. The 18-game regular season will be capped off with a Championship Weekend in Outlook between March 9-10, 2024.
