The town of Rosetown will once again have a Ducks Unlimited Committee and is looking to hold their event later this year.Rosetown's very first Ducks Unlimited event ran in 1985 and consecutively for 16 years, right until 2001.

Manager of Events for Ducks Unlimited, Alan Smith said, "I was contacted last year by a few local residents from Rosetown in hopes to get Ducks Unlimited back to the community and of course I was more then happy to help make that happen."

The Ducks Unlimited group sets out to ensure that the wetlands are being protected across Canada. Within a 100KM perimeter surrounding Rosetown, there are currently 144 wetland projects with over 11 million dollars having gone into the preservation and development from the Ducks Unlimited organization.

Smith said, " Ducks Unlimited is not only about the preservation of wetlands for migratory birds but that they help hang onto ground water which in turn helps to mitigate flooding. They also act as the earths natural source of filtration, filtering the water before entering the soil."
