Saskatchewan Provincial Parks will be enforcing a ban on alcohol this Victoria Day long weekend.

Greg Murphy, Associate Deputy Minister of Tourism, Parks, Culture, and Sport, explains that the ban was instituted to make the parks safer and more welcoming for everyone.

Murphy adds that from the Victoria Long of 2005 to 2006 they saw vandalism go down 97 percent.

Murphy adds that private cabins, hotels, or golf courses are not affected.
