For the first time in the past week, the provincial government reported more than 200 new cases of COVID-19 in their daily update Saturday. There were 244 new cases reported, along with 190 recoveries and four deaths linked to the virus. The number of active cases across the province is now 1,950, while the seven-day average of new cases is now 162. 

In the daily update, it was reported there were 1,691 doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered on Friday, bringing the total number of vaccine doses administered to 48,566. This represents 104 percent of the doses received in the province. 

Two of the deaths reported on Saturday were in the 70-79 age group in Saskatoon. The other two deaths were in the 80+ age group, with one person a resident of the Central East zone, and the other in the North West zone. 

Of the new cases reported on Saturday, 66 were in Saskatoon and 55 in Regina. There were 30 new cases in the North West and 23 in the Far North West. Another 18 new cases were reported in the North Central, with 14 in the Central East. Nine new cases were reported in the Far North Central zone, eight in the North East, six in the Far North East and Central West zones, five in the South East, and one in the South West and in South Central. There are two cases pending residence information.
