It's going to be a fun filled next couple of weeks at the Eston Riverside Regional Park. The fun begins this Canada Day, as there is a special Red & White golf tournament being held. Karen Mullis with the Regional Park explains.

“We just kind of threw it together at the last minute, to give some people something to do that evening and just a quick little four-person best ball tournament. We called it our Red & White tournament for Canada Day and we're just going to alternate white and red tee boxes and play it out like that. Maybe dress in some red and white, just have a little fun with it,” Mullis said.

It's $30 for an adult, $20 for 18 & under and it includes golf, hamburger meal and fun.

The concession, swimming pool and golf course will be open, and the Regional Park is looking forward to a busy long weekend.

“We're ready for Canada Day weekend at the Regional Park. Everything is up and operating our concession, swimming pool. The mini golf and of course the golf course. And it's a beautiful green, it's going to be a great weekend,” Mullis added.

Not only will the concession, swimming pool, mini golf and golf course be open, the Regional Park is also holding a pancake breakfast on Sunday.

“We have a pancake breakfast, we would usually have it on the Canada Day, but with it being on a Friday, we seem to get better crowds on Sundays so, we carried it just a little further into the weekend,” Mullis also said.

After the Canada Day weekend fun there is also a Ladies “Bee” Happy Fun Tournament being held on July 9.

“That's our annual tournament we do every year, it's a fun tournament so it will be fun. It's going to be open to all levels of golfers so ladies shouldn't be afraid to join in on the fun. It's going to be a great time,” Mullis said.

Registration for the Ladies "Bee" Happy golf tournament begins at 9:00 am July 9, with a shotgun tee off at 10:00 am. It costs $60 for Members and $70 for non-members. It includes 18 holes, a meal, prizes, and lunch available at cost. The first nine holes will be a four person best ball format, and the second nine will be "Bee Happy" golf. There is a prize for Best Theme Dressed Team, and proceeds raised from both tournaments will go towards clubhouse & golf course maintenance & upgrades
