The Blue Jays hot bats weren't swinging to their potential in yesterday evenings game one of the American League Championship Series, where they fell 5-0 to the Royals.

Marco Estrada pitched 5.1 innings, allowing three runs off six hits and striking out six. Edinson Volquez got the start for Kansas City, he pitched six innings, giving up two hits and striking out five.

Toronto may have lost a crucial player in the series. Edwin Encarnacion aggravated his middle finger during one of his at bats, he was taken for x-rays as a precaution; they revealed a sprain. Encarnacian is listed as day to day but is not expected to play in game two.

The game also included one home run, a two run homer, hit by the Kansas Cities Hosmer in the bottom of the 8th.

Game two is scheduled for Saturday at 2:05 PM in Kansas City.

Starting pitchers are David Price for Toronto and Yordano Ventura for the Royals.
