The Biggar Jubilee Stadium will be a busy spot these next few days with a full-slate of games on the rink schedule for Biggar Minor Hockey Weekend.

After a senior Biggar Nationals home game Friday night at 8:30 PM against Wilkie, three games are set for Saturday, and then it looks like a full-day at the rink on Sunday.

One of the more notable matchups will be the Saskatchewan Junior Female Hockey League game between the Western Prairie Klippers and Saskatoon Prairie Blaze on Sunday night at 7:00 PM. The SJFHL has been playing neutral site games as a way to grow the league in its first year, the Klippers and Prairie Blaze just playing to a 7-2 Blaze final in Maidstone last Sunday.

Town of Biggar Recreation Director Erin Poitras shared just how the game came together for the west-central Saskatchewan community.

"It was (Saskatoon) that reached out to us." shared Poitras, as the Prairie Blaze feature a Biggar native on their roster. "Kolby Haynes, she is from Biggar. It will be great to have her back in the rink." Poitras finished as Haynes should be a familiar face at the rink.

Just last week, Klippers goaltender Rilyn Roadhouse faced a similar situation playing in her hometown of Eston. With Biggar nestled somewhere between the target areas for the Western Prairie Klippers, and Saskatoon Prairie Blaze, Klippers fans shouldn't have a problem attending Sunday's game.

Biggar Minor Hockey Weekend will also be a time to celebrate according to Poitras.

"On the Sunday we also have a "Wall of Fame" inductee presentation going on. It will be around 3:30 on Sunday, just a short little presentation, and our new inductees will be introduced at that time."

The weather should be great for anyone hitting the highways to Biggar this weekend. Check out the Biggar Minor Hockey page on Facebook to view the full schedule of games.

"Lots of games. It's a full weekend!"
