Another step towards naming the top 32 U15 male AA hockey players in the province took place over the weekend. Back in December we shared the local U15 hockey players who cracked the Sask First Top 160 tournament, taking place December 28-30 at the Co-operators Centre in Regina.

U15 AA West Central Wheat Kings players in Kerrobert's Taylor and Graydon Neumeier made it, and then Connor Sittler from Dodsland and Kaine Thiessen from Kindersley rounded things out looking at the local team. Playing for separate club teams, Noah Gibson and Jake Hargrave from the Outlook, Lucky Lake area also cracked the list of west-central Saskatchewan names.

  • Noah Gibson - Defense - Team #7 (White)
  • Jake Hargrave - Defense - Team #8 (Grey)
  • Graydon Neumeier - Forward - Team #7 (White)
  • Taylor Neumeier - Forward - Team #6 (Red)
  • Connor Sittler - Forward - Team #5 (Blue)
  • Kaine Thiessen - Forward - Team #8 (Grey)

As you can see above the players were spread across eight different teams. Team #8 featuring Hargrave and Thiessen finished first place in Pool A at 2-1, while Sittler and Team #5 finished in second place at 1-1-1. Looking at Pool B, Team #7 featuring Gibson and Graydon Neumeier finished in first with a perfect 3-0 record, while Taylor Neumeier and Team #6 finished third in Pool B at 1-2.

In Saturday's 'A' final, Team #7 took down Team #8 by a score of 4-3 as Gibson, Graydon Neumeier and company were named tournament champions. The 'B' final finished 6-2 as Team #3 beat Team #5, the 'C' final ended up 6-4 as Team #6 edged out Team #1, and then in the 'D' final Team #2 would take a healthy 7-2 victory over Team #4.

Those local Top 80 hopefuls highlight this week's edition of AA Wednesdays, but with the SAAHL and SFHL AA seasons soon set to resume play, see how the six local teams are standing entering 2024.
