The 2025 BKT Tires World Men’s Curling Championship is coming to Moose Jaw in 2025.

It was announced this morning at the Montana’s Brier in Regina, and now it’s official. Nolan Thiessen, CEO of Curling Canada and former World Men's Champion broke the news.

"It'll be the first time for the World Men's in Moose Jaw. We've hosted a couple of amazing Scotties and Wheelchair Curling Championships, and it's going to be great to be there, and to see Canada step on top of the podium at home," said Thiessen.

The championship will be held at the Moose Jaw Events Centre from March 29th – April 6th, 2025.

Al Cameron, director of communications and media relations with Curling Canada, poked fun on the news being leaked early. "What goes on the Original 16 Patch, what is said in the Original 16 Patch, stays in the Original 16 Patch."

He commended Moose Jaw for their bid. "This was a competitive process; this was not a fait accompli that Moose Jaw was going to win this bid. We get a lot of bids for curling championships such as this, and Moose Jaw just submitted an outstanding bid," said Cameron.

MLA for Lumsden-Morse, Blaine McLeod, spoke to the economic impact of the announcement. "Today's announcement is made possible through our government's commitment of $300,000 to support the bid. This event is projected to have an economic impact of $10-$12 million through increased visitor spending at local businesses, attractions, restaurants, accommodations, and more."

Tickets for the 2025 BKT Tires World Men's Curling Championship will go on sale March 21st starting at 10 a.m.
