A number of issues on west central highways kept Rosetown RCMP busy over the past week. The local detachment responded to a vehicle fire near Rosetown, no one was hurt; member responded to a call of an erratic driver, and abandoned vehicle near Elrose, and then their reporting week ended with the winter squall that saw a number of vehicles end up in the ditch and drivers stranded on the side of the highway. According to the weekly report all the calls the local detachment handled during the storm ended well, no one was hurt and everyone eventually made it to their destination.

  • Received 10 business alarms all of which were false alarm calls.
  • Received a report of theft of railway ties. The individuals were located, the property was returned and no charges were issued.
  • Received a report of an erratic driver on Highway 7. The matter is still under investigation.
  • Received a report of a sudden death in Rosetown, SK. Members along with EMS attended, there was nothing suspicious and nothing further was required.
  • Received a report of an abandoned vehicle near Elrose, SK.The vehicle was later reported by the owner which was involved in an a collision.
  • Received a report of a motor vehicle collision near Elrose, SK. There were no injuries, and no charges were issued
  • Responded to an assault in Rosetown, SK. Members arrested a male and charges were issued. The matter is in court.
  • Received a report of a mischief in Rosetown, SK, though the victim declined to proceed.
  • Received a report on an injured deer on Highway 4. Members attended to ensure the deer was off the highway
  • Responded to several calls due to the winter storm. All passengers were safe and everyone made it home safely. We would like to remind people to stay home and not drive under these extreme circumstances as this may place additional burden on emergency services by making a poor decision to drive.
