On Friday night RCMP shut down a portion of highway 19 just north of Elbow, following a collision involving a semi and a pick-up truck.

The semi was heading north, hauling a mobile home and although it was reported there was a pilot truck present, it is unknown, at this point, if it was in front or behind the semi. The driver was the only occupant in the semi and it was reported his injuries were not severe and was treated on scene.

The other vehicle, a pick-up truck towing a boat and was heading south-bound on highway 19 when the two vehicles collided.

The truck had 3 occupants, the driver was reported to have sustained serious injuries and was air-lifted to Saskatoon for medical attention. The other two passengers in the pick-up were treated on scene and did not endure any further injuries.

After speaking with Constable Trevor Scott with the Rosetown RCMP detachment, it is still unknown who is at fault. Scott, who was on scene, said it will come down to placement of each of the vehicles. Whether the semi and mobile home were overhanging into the south-bound lane, or if they were as far to the right of their lane as possible.

Scott, who is also a support analysis with the forensic reconstruction collision team, said it could take up to a month to analyze the findings to discover what the cause of the collision was.
