The Wilkie Citizens on Patrol Group works closely with the RCMP by alerting them of any potential crimes that are happening.

This past Wednesday at Wilkie's Town Council Meeting an open house was held for those curious about what C.O.P is and what they do in the town.

George Benson, president of C.O.P explains why an open house was necessary.

"What started it all was the town had three different individuals who had concerns about the safety in the town. We have had a couple of break ins and as I say, they were expressing their concern and wondering what the town was doing, what the police was doing, and what citizens on patrol were doing. So that's when the town decided to have an open house so that all of these areas could be addressed."
