Due to the fire damage in the Wilkie Arena, minor and senior hockey as well as curling will not be played in Wilkie this season.

Graeme Donn, Recreation Director for the town of Wilkie says they have received a tonne of community outreach, offering ice time to teams as well as support.

For the 2015-16 season, minor hockey will primarily be played out of Cut Knife. The Wilkie Outlaws will play out of Unity with Curling squads having no set location for playing time.

Engineers were in the Arena earlier this week to explore the extent of the damages however Donn says they won't know any of the findings until next week at the earliest.

More to come.
